Medeniyetler İttifakı Yüksek Temsilcisi Sampaio ile birlkte yapılan "Medeniyetler İttifakı İstanbul Forumu" Tanıtım Toplantısı

Ali Savut 04.05.2012
-The Alliance of Civilizations is the largest international initiative promoting efforts of intercultural dialogue and happiness, mutual respect and understanding.

-It is under the auspices of the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon who confirmed he will attend the Partners Forum in Istanbul on 31 May and 1st June.

-I personally believe that the dynamism, energy and dedication of H.E. Mr. Jorge Sampaio is a vital force behind the success of the initiative.

-AOC was launched in 2005. Today it benefits from contributions of about 130 friends of Alliance.

-It is not exaggeration to say that today the world is in a better situation than in 2005, when a pessimistic atmosphere prevailed. Today, the idea of “clash of civilizations” is not among the guiding motives of international relations.

-In this improvement, the AOC played a significant role.

-Letters of invitations for the AoC Partners Forum to be held in İstanbul on 31 May- 1 June, are already sent. We expect Head of State, Head of Government level or, at least, political level participation.

-Participants are expected to pledge a certain financial contribution. The size of pledges is not important. Modest pledges are also welcome.

-We hope that embassies will encourage their capitals to attend this Partners Forum at political level.
